On Saturday May 30th, 2009, approximately 300 volunteers came out to show their support for walking and biking to school. While many of these people were students at the local Woodbridge elementary schools,
there were many volunteers from Rutgers University, Berkeley College and local neighborhood residents who dedicated their time to make sure everything went smoothly. The Woodbridge BikeNWalk event showcased
community involvement from all ends; school teachers supervised, parents and their children surveyed and then finally local collegiate students input the data into the website to allow for interactive community mapping. This event displayed a great coming together of a whole community to push for small issues that really
matter in today’s fast paced world.
